Types of companies you can incorporate in Panama
Panama Corporation Law is based on the Delaware Business Corporation Law of 1926. Unlike the laws of many offshore jurisdictions, there is no difference between local and offshore companies in Panama.
The following commercial organizations exist under the Code of Commerce of Panama:
- Sociedad Anónima
- Sociedad Colectiva
- Sociedades Colectivas de Responsabilidad Limitada (like an American LLC)
- Sociedad encomandita
- Cooperativas, empresas individuales
Most of the companies, nevertheless, are handled in the Republic of Panama in form of sociedad anónima, colectiva or personal. Almost without exception, the operations with seat in the outside, are handled through sociedades anónimas.
